thank you . ! =] im feelinq a little better . i am a lot more alert and when i have a halucination they give me a tranquilizer so i come back to reality and can rest . ill be ok. mii boyfriend freaked worse than mii mom lol but he will be ok . thank you for ur time and again ill keep you posted.
I'm so relieved you are in the hospital, child. I have heard of lupus and cancer being linked. You are most definitely in the right place, I'm glad your doc put you in there. But I also remember when I was in the hospital after my car wreck, the nurse would wake me up at 2 a.m. to give me a pain shot. All I could think was if I'm sleeping, I ain't in pain, am i? Ha! But yeah, a hospital is a busy place and open 24/7, so sometimes it's like being in Grand Central Station. If it helps, my nephew had bone cancer, he was a teenager, scared the daylights out of him and us. But he's in his late 20s now and is fine, but they put him thru the mill, to be sure. But sounds like they're working the problem and it won't be long before they'll begin treatment for you to get well, so hang in. GG
Thank you. i have been here in the hospital for a few days now and im not feelinq too much better but not any worse. one thing is for sure there is absolutly no privacy here! i hate being woke up at 2 AM for a blood test! and every two hours they want a temp and blood pressure . ! it is so annoyinq! but i feel a lot safer. i had to have a MRI they think i have lupus. along with brain cancer. they did a blood test and it came up that ihave some sort of cancer but the results of the MRI hasnt came back yet so they dont know where the cancer is yet. but if i truly have brain cancer having lupus (an autoimmune disorder) will make it much harder to get well again.
ill keep you posted.! thank you for everything and God bless you .! =]
Hey there TayMarie,
Bless you for posting, even tho you were out of it. My medicines sometimes cause somekinda alarming hallucinations, plus I get spaced out, but I have to sternly remind myself I'm just a sick person and it's the medicines. But you are so sick that you don't need medicines to lose your mind!
Let's see, the main thing about where you're going, it's a Children's Hospital, which includes an emergency department and a surgical oncology department. Oncology refers to cancer, but surgical oncology also works on benign growths or tumors. You can get a growth, for example, in your head, or anywhere really, and it can push on some nerves, and make you get your nose bleeds, and black out, and all the rest of it you have. The surgical oncology folks can safely operate if need be, in order to stop all your symptoms and make you well.
You'll be in the neurology unit, GREAT place to be, because neuros are just such great doctors. They have to know a whole lot to be neurologists. And gosh, am I ever glad your great pediatric doc has decided to admit you to the hospital! How fortunate she realizes how serious your situation is. A lot of times parents don't want to think of their child as being sick, so that's how come they're playing it down, they're trying to be strong and hoping for the best.
But I know, I've been in your position of going into a hospital, and all you want is someone to hold your hand and tell you how sad they are you're so goofed up and maybe even frightened. So, I'll do what friends and objective helping type people do, which parents cannot do, and that is to tell you, hon, you are in very bad shape, I know it's so hard to put up with all this, but you're going to be in exactly the right place for your illness, which is the hospital.
In the hospital, the docs are going to work and work the problem until they get it right, and meanwhile it'll be good for you to finally be able to just lay in bed for a while and watch TV and read, which you've been needing SOMEbody to PLEZ take care of you so you can just rest in peace and quiet. The doc will maybe get some good medicines going to make you feel better, and lots of nurses come in and are nice to you and check on you all day long. In fact, I was in the hospital when I was 20 years old for two months, and I was so impressed by the nurses, I wanted to become one. And hey, if you feel really bad, you tell the nurse or the doc that wanders in and out, and cry and explain how freaked out you are, and maybe they'll give you some tranquilizers or something. I think you need one, for sure, becuz if I was really out of it the way you are, I'd want SOMEthing to calm ME down!
I think you'll be okay now FINALLY, beause thank goodness SOMEbody stepped up and is gonna put you in the hospital where you belong, so you'll be well cared-for now. Because I KNOW how wild and crazy you feel right now, and I really feel for you. Just try to take some nice deep breaths when you get a little scared now and then, it'll slow your heart and refresh your oxygen supply, which will make you feel better. PLUS the food gets delivered to your bedside, and will be not taste bad at all, breakfast in bed is great. And hospitals have a nice little rhythm going, and so you will get into it and thus relax well and sleep well. Soon you'll begin to feel your old self and be able to plan for all the fun stuff you want to do when you finally get outta there.
I'll be thinking of you, child, and by the way, thanks for the little note, and ALSO you did INDEED post here, as you can see, even tho you felt you were in a separate reality whilst trying to talk to all of us. Hang in, the hospital will take over your life, and you can just rest in bed and do whatever you want to pass the time! Get well soon!!!
uhg i feel like im going to pass out and explode at the same time!
The only problem is with the hallucinations i dont know what is real and what isnt. im not even sure if i have been to the ER or not. i dont even know for sure if i am even posting this right now. my parents think im being mellow dramatic but the pains are so great that they take me to the floor. I also was told that i fell asleep while soaking in the tub [ i thought the warm water would help aleviate my pains ] but i do know for a fact that i go to my pediatrition [Doctor. Ann Croft - she is famous in Ohio where i live] and she has ordered me be admitted to the Neurology unit at Nationwide Childrens Surgical Oncolody and Emergancy Department. if only i knew what surgical oncology meant. thank you!
Dear Tay,
I have read both of your postings. Sometimes it will take days for somebody at this forum to respond, so sorry about that! Hon, you are in a world of trouble and you must go to the ER as soon as you can get it together to go over there (even if you've already been), and it would be helpful to have someone take you or you should call an ambulance (9-1-1, ask for ambulance, give address), if you don't feel safe driving.
Your fever is causing a lot of your symptoms, like the ringing in your ears, fatigue, sleepwalking, hallucinations. But since your lymph nodes are swollen and your nose is bleeding and your vision is affected, you may have a virus or maybe even some other more serious health issue going on, that needs to be thoroughly investigated and monitored. In other words, simple bloodwork is not enough, mainly because of your bloody nose, loss of vision, and blackouts. You need a CAT scan of your head at the very least, you should be tested for circulatory problems, neurological problems, every virus and bacteria under the sun, and that temperature has got to be reduced.
You may have to wait around in the ER, so dress very warmly, bring something to pass the time with, ask to lay down, and be sure to tell the admitting triage people that your nose won't stop bleeding and you've lost your vision, ask could you please have an orderly accompany you until you can be seen by the emergency team. Do NOT post back here and disagree; just go to the ER, I don't care if you've been several times over the last few days. See, could be you are having a bleed in your brain, is worst-case scenario, and so it's extremely important you be seen now. God speed.
GG
If you are having all that at the same time you need to go staright to the ER!
so i guess that no body can help me? =(
