Skin biopsy negative

For the last 18 months I have experienced burning/tingling (like hot sand hitting my body in a sand storm).  It is
present on the balls of my feet, my legs, hands and arms.  I have had numerous tests...all negative, including
lytes, cbc, ana, sed rate, crp, B12 and the other methy...something), some auto immune testing, celiac, emg, ncv
and the supposed gold standard skin biopsy.  Everything normal.  I  have hot burning areas on my upper
arms but when touched they are COLD...my husband has felt the difference...hands, lower arms and shoulders
warm but upper arms between shoulders and elbow very cold.  I have tried neurontin 300 mg tid without results.
I am 64 and 4 years ago was in an auto accident and shortly thereafter developed cervical dystonia for which I
have Botox injections to my neck every 3 months.  After the accident I had cervical spinal series and cervical
neck and head MRI's all okay.  This burning is intensely unpleasant.  At times to the point of pain.  Frankly,
the only thing that seems to help is a hot bath which realistically makes no sense.  Cold water such as when
I soak my feet increases the burning greatly.  Any thoughts from anybody.  Wondering about the Botox causing it
but was on Botox several years before this started and neurologists assure me that cannot be the problem. I have stopped and restarted all my meds in case they could be the culprits.  Added B12 (even though everything normal)
carnitine, lipoic acid, magnesium, CQ 10,and probably others deemed from other people's posts.
I feel that since my labs are all normal, emg, ncv normal and now the skin biopsy normal, the doctors are not
taking me seriously (which to some extent I can understand).  I so hoped to have something positive because
as it is I appear fine, have no motor deficits, etc.  BUT I still burn like crazy.  HELP!

RLS? (restless leg syndrome)... is definately not just a leg problem in severe cases. Mine can definately get uncomfortable, and very unpleasant. And not just at night. Worth a look...

I have all the symptoms you have, the temperature changes are new to me I felt them about a month ago for the first time. I too have a cervical injury, from a gymnastics accident when I was much younger. My biopsy was positive for SFN.
They just gave me tramadol for pain, but nothing else. I dont take vitamins, supplements anything. So any info will be helpfull.
Take care!
