im no doctor but that sounds a bit like myoclonus to me. myoclonus is when your muscle involuntarily contracts then goes back to normal which causes jerking/jumpy movements. you can read a bit more about it on the we move website hope that helps a bit. keep well

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

This muscle spasm is also called as muscle fasciculation & appears when the muscle contracts on its own (without nerve stimulation).  Most of the times these symptoms occur without any underlying disorder & they are not harmful or may appear after viral illness or long term illness and anxiety. But sometimes this muscle twitching appears as atrophy and weakness of muscle as well. Most likely cause of this twitching with weakness/atrophy of muscle can be when the nerve supplying to the muscles are not functioning properly due to any neurological disorder. If you suffer continuous weakness and notice reduced strength of muscle bulk in areas, please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away who will evaluate the possibilities here. Hope this information proves helpful to you. Take Care & Regards!!!

That's most likely a muscle spasm.  You get a muscle spasm like that when you've strained something in the area of the spasm, like for you, your shoulder, anything you did that could have pulled or tugged hard on your arms or shoulder area, it'll cause muscles to bunch up, and they'll spasm out like that at random times.  Sometimes you can try to remember what you done to make this happen, and you won't remember, but nevertheless that is usually the situation.

The solution is to have a friend or relative massage out your shoulders really well, and also your upper arm muscles, too, squeezing on those.  If you notice it hurts anywhere, that would be the spot.  Also, the person who is massaging might feel some knots, which are strained and bunched-up muscles, so they need to firmly roll out those things, might take a few sessions to get them back to where they're supposed to be.
