Needs answers

Hi I am 26 years old, I had my third baby in January.  I had my first "panic attack" last april, two week after I quit smoking. I had my second "panic attack", March 13th of 2011. Since then I have had this terrible dizzy/fogged/disconnected feeling. I absolutely do NOT feel like my old self and I have gone through all of the emotions, right now I just NEED some answers. I feel my absolute best as soon as I wake up every morning and I feel normal when I yawn but as the day progresses I feel more and more fogged. You know when you spin in a circle and you get really dizzy but then the dizziness wears off? The feeling right before the dizziness is completely gone is how I feel all day, almost as if I took some sort of cold medicine and my head is in the clouds. I can't stand it and I want my old self back again. Please any advice would be helpful. Thank you for your time.

Hi there. The various signs and symptoms of postnatal depression are lack of interest in the baby, negative feelings towards it, lack of self concern, lack of energy and motivation, change in appetite and weight, sleeping more or less than usual and recurrent thoughts of death or suicide. These changes are seen because of falling estrogen, progesterone and thyroid levels post natally. Consult a psychiatrist for psychotherapy, hormone therapy involving replacement of estrogen marriage counseling, and antidepressants if indicated. Hope this helps. Take care.
