pinched nerve?

Hello! I am a little scared about a problem I have, below are the facts:
- 26 year old male, I have no health problems, athletic
- about 1 month ago i started experiencing a pain in my neck when i moved the head right, it felt like hard muscle pain in the left side of the neck (probably to my sometimes unusual head position during sleeping).
- i had these before so i thought it would pass. now after 4 weeks the muscle pain is gone, but i stilll feel pain when i max the move to the left, it feels like a nerve pinch i guess. i can move the head to the right, and close to the max it starts to hurt, feels a little electric, best description i can do
- about 5 days ago i hit my right elbow, and felt the pins and needles electric feel across the arm all the way to the pinkie. had it before, it passed in 5 mins no problem.
- BUT, after about 10 mins, the tip of my right index finger became numb, from to tip to the first knucle. not full numbness, nor mild, i can still feel hot water or pain if i press on it a little.
- i thought it would pass on its own but, today, after 6 days it still is partially numb
- the difference is that today i hit lightly my right elbow, and for about 2-3 mins the numbness in the finger was gone, but it came back
- now however, compared to the first days, the numbness sensation oscilates, sometimes i feel my finger just fine, other times it is the same mild numb tip to first knuckle.
- the neck pain to the right is still there, i am sure there is a problem there :(
- the rest of my right hand, including fingers are ok, no numb, no pins, no electric feeling, just the tip
Thank you!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

Well, without a detailed evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include postural issues, neuro-muscular causes such as muscle sprain, nerve impingement, vascular causes, injuries to muscles/ ligaments etc inflammations, referred pain from other regions etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially or an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
