You are entitled to an MRI immediately without cost from the car insurance company, regardless of who was at fault. An x-ray is not sufficient. Do not accept "no" for an answer. A CT scan is inappropriate. You have symptoms of what is called a subluxion injury, and provided a fracture is ruled out, treatment is immediate use of gentle axial traction for several minutes at a time (five to ten minutes) several times a day. Rest for several weeks and then range-of-motion exercises through the limits of discomfort. Do NOT wear a cervical collar, although many physician's prescribe this (inappropriately). A collar will cause loss of muscle tone within several days of use. Muscle tone is what keeps the vertabrae separated. Use of a muscle relaxant is also contraindicated.
hi
thanks for the replies the numbness and tingling is better now, just lower back pains and alot of leg weakness, but happy to say im much better now thanks again
Well best of luck to you. I hope you are better soon and you get the mri :) Best wishes, Sissie
hi
thanks for the reply, the chart has been very useful thanks, from another reply, it seems a neck injury would effect anything lower then the neck and not above dealing with nerves, the chart is almost conclusive to this too, however the muscles are all connected i'll definitely be trying for a MRI, drs here don't easily allow MRI scans
There is also a spinal nerve conduction chart on my profile that may be helpful to you, Best wishes, Sissie
You should go to the dr and ask to have a mri or ct scan done. From what you are describing you have a nerve being pinched somewhere. I can be from swelling but you should have your disc and vertebra checked to make sure there is nothing wrong with them. Be careful with the numbness and pins and needles as that can lead to permanent damage. If you notice that it is getting worse get help immediately. Best of luck and sorry to hear of your accident, Sissie
