Help! My doctors have given up!

Two years ago I started experiencing constant dizziness absent of vertigo. The dizziness remains constant and is accompanied by other symptoms: muscle spasams, memory loss, facial tics, pain in limbs, electric like feelings, numbness, fatigue and frequent urination. I've had two clean MRI's and all my blood work is also fine. Neuro has tried me on migrane, seizure, and anti-depressants for the dizziness to no avail. Half the time my neuro exams are regular the other half they are abnormal. My neurologist, PCP, ENT have all given up on me. Please help!

Without a personal evaluation it is possible to give a definite diagnosis, but all of the symptoms that you discribe are possibly from a temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Have an MRI of the TM joints peformed to see if there is any dislocation and/or derangement of the joint. This may be the reason for the dizziness, HA's, tics, fatigue, muscle spasms, numbness, and even pain in the limbs. A trigeminal nerve impingement has been implicated in many of these disorders. Have a good TMJ dentist or ENT look these over. Unsure of the memory loss or frequent urination. Never give up for there is always a reason for your symptoms. Good luck and God bless.

Your body systems are not in balance.Do this pranayam for 30 minutes twice a day, and tell me what symptoms are getting better, in the next 9 to 35 days. Then I will suggest more of what you can do.

Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

I've been tested for all these things, all negative. Perhaps this is why my doctors are stummped.

I think they can also be a sign of pituitary problems or poor circulation.

i have never heard that about the moons before!  i have only faint ones on my thumbs and have asked my drs. why for about 7 or 8 years now.  i did have my b12 tested a few times but they said it was within normal range....is there anything else that can cause that to happen?  sorry to butt in on your response, but found this very interesting!

Did they check for B12 deficiency?  All of the above symptoms can be attributed to that.
See if the white moons on each of your fingernails is visible - the pinky should be the only finger that you can't see a moon.  If they are small on the other fingers or practically non-existent, this could also be a sign of B12 deficiency.   If this is the problem, maybe you have poor absoption in the intestines or you lack intrinsic factor in the stomach.  I know celiac disease can cause malabsoption  from my own family's experiences.  The gluten free diet cured my husband's migraines and dizziness, and my daughter's dizziness and many of the above symptoms you described.  The only one we don't have is the frequent urination.   Is the frequent urination from large urine output or just the urge to pee frequently?  I mention the gluten free diet because if that is the cause of a possible B12 deficiency, you will need avoid gluten to absorb the B12.

I hope this helps.  If it doesn't, hopefully someone else can help you.  Hang in there!  But since the docs don't know what to do, and we are what we eat, food is a good place to start!

while i am sure your symptoms may be similar to other things as well, they are very much like mine were.  only as things progressed, i started having dibilitating headaches.  a radiologist finally noted that i had a chiari malformation.  there is precious little research and even less knowledge amongst the medical community about this rare brain disorder.  you might want to do some research on your own to see if the shoe fits, first.  then take a look at your mri yourself.  if you have a fairly large herniation, it will be very obvious. if not, you may need to have someone more experienced and qualified to have a look.  it's very frustrating to have all these symptoms and no answers, i know.  just don't give up.  you are your own best advocate!!  good luck!  elizabeth
