Many bad habits

Hello everyone!
I have a problem with bad habits. I have soo many and can't seem to quit. For example, my worst is biting my nails and the skin around my fingers. I bite them CONSTANTLY and have tried everything to quit. (Fake nails, bad tasting nail solution, gloves, bandaids, nail polish... You name it) On top of that, I also pick the skin of my lips, bite the inside of my mouth, crack my fingers and toes and more!
I was reading online that constant nail biting and such bad habits could be classified as OCD. However, I do not want to jump to conclusions, so I wanted to know your input based on my description of the situation!
Thanks!

Personally, I would not consider those things enough to classify as legit OCD. I know several people that do all those things and while its annoying I wouldnt claim it as a mental disorder. Everyone I have ever met and spoken to about OCD thinks they have some form of it. But there is a huge difference between habits, quirks, etc. and obsessions along with compulsions so bad that it effects every aspect of your life. Now if you are obsessed with say biting your fingers till they bleed all the time, then I would be worried. However, if these things are bothering you I agree that you should see someone just in case.

Do you ingest caffiene at all even if it is in small doses, even chocolate? If so stop. Replace it with water. Also remove any other stimulants in your diet and eat more raw and natural foods... consistently. Also do not eat foods with dyes in them or preservatives or anatto. Basically cut out boxed foods. Make this a life style change. Forever. It helps to exercise when you want to bite nails, chew etc. even a few jumping jacks or run in place. Exercise releases  feel good endorphines that calm you.

Yes, you are right! I think I should to, because it's getting to the point where it's not natural and not regular bad habits. Thank you for the advice :)

To be honest with you, the jury is still out.  If you are doing these things because of stress, you could have a generalized anxiety disorder or the like.  You should really talk to a psychologist because it seems to me that if you are posting on the forum, these things are bugging you and obviously you have tried stopping without success.  Get help from a professional.

Hi I personally don't think you have ocd, from all the research I have conducted myself I have never come across that. It sounds more like just alot of habits to be honest,so you have nothing to worry about =]
