12 year old son has sclerotic asis

Hello, my son has been having hip pain so the gp sent him for an x-ray. It shows a sclerotic ASIS. The report says it could be projectional or from trauma. What do they mean by projectional please? (he has been referred to orhtopaedics) thank you
