Hi,
I'm a 47 yrs old female. I have had pain in my left hip for the last 3 or 4 months. Some days I will wake up and can't move. If I try to keep weight off the leg it hurts worse. Some days it will be bearable, but a lot of times I just want to cry. There are some days it's just in my hip and other days or more it will radiate down to my calf. Standing at times help and sometimes it makes it worse. I try to take Ibuprofen before it get's too bad and it will subside enough to where I can function without crying. If I take IB after it's at it's worse it helps some but not enough. Some ideas would be helpful. I have no insurance or anyway of getting it at this time and at least want some sort of idea of what is going on.
Thank you.
Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of the hip pain. Possibilities that may need to be considered include infections/ inflammations, bursitis, tendonitis, arthritis, capsulitis, ligament/ tendon tears, growths/ tumours, nerve impingement, avascular necrosis, fractures, dislocations, etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Meanwhile you may try some tylenol/ OTC NSAIDS and see if these are helpful for pain relief.
Hope this helps.
Take care!
