Bone TB

Hi
I am a 31year old married female, normal weight. I was diagnosed with Bone TB last year and successfully completed a 12 month medication cycle in February 2011 and am completely cured of the disease now. Please let me know if: 1.Are any post medication precautions that i need to take? 2. Is there any time period that I should wait before deciding to conceive, considering any sideeffects of the medicines. 3. My affected area was the wrist. It has almost 99.5% normal movement now but do i still need to be careful about not exerting it too much? will my bones be in case more sensitive or brittle incase i hurt myself by mistake?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

1. If your orthopedician has cleared you as "Treatment completed" or "cured" of tuberculosis then you are completely cured and there is no need of any precautions. Continue taking calcium supplements for 3-6 months.

2. You can go ahead with your pregnancy.

3. You must be careful for a period of 3-6 months and after that you can completely exert weight and do your normal day to day activities.

Take care!
