I am 38 yo male. I had severe pain in my left arm. So went to hospital a week ago and did x-ray and blood test. Doctor has given me Celecoxib 200 mg capsules twice a day for 14 days and a gel to apply on my shoulder. Few times when I'm out I missed applying the gel but never missed the capsules (although once I had the capsules 4 hours late).
Today I received the x-ray image and report by email, and still waiting for the blood test report. I cannot see any thing abnormal in the image, but the x-ray report says:
{{{* Thin curvilinear calcification adjacent to greater tuberosity of humerus - likely calcific tendinitis of rotator cuff.
* Alignment is normal.
* Bone density is normal.
* Gleno-humerai joint space is normal.
* Acromio-clavicular joint space is normal.
* No lytic or sclerotic lesion.}}}
I am very curious about what causes my bone to develop this unwanted curvilinear calcification and what to do about it and about protecting my other bones from similar things in the future.
Last year, MRI noted that I had Marginal osteophytes at C3 to 06 level. They said it was because of bending my neck too much at computers. But now how about my shoulder?
