Distal radius fracture and stiffness

Im about 5.5 weeks out from a distal radius fracture and ORIF. It was done with a dorsal approach (on the top of my wrist). I'm going to therapy 2x per week and doing my home exercises a ton but the wrist is still so stiff. Im out of the brace. I have about 30-35 degrees of flexion and 40 degrees of extension. The therapist said there is a ton of scar tissue preventing more motion so she is quite aggressive about mobilizing the scar tissue and do this at home as well. Is this normal for almost six weeks? Or am I behind? Any other tips for getting more motion while at home?
