Does pregancy cause carpal tunnel

Does pregancy cause carpal tunnel sydrome,  I have worked at the same job for 15 years,  and my hands have bothered me for along time,  but when I become pregnant it got to a point where i could not stand it anymore,  so I had to go and get help for it,  but neither of the doctors I went to want to say it come from my job,  they want to say my pregancy caused me to get the carpal tunnel.  I would like to know if there is any proof out there that can prove my pregancy did not cause the carpal tunnel but only made it worse.

I can't imagine that pregnancy would cause carpal tunnel..It's from repetative motion over a long period of time.....hummm.you haven't been pregnant a long periond of time have you? Are you an elephant? (My idea of humor) I agree they are looking for an easy out. Ask the doctor treating your carpal tunnel about the causes. Just because you are pregnant doesn't mean you can't have something else wrong with you. Good luck, and God Bless

Hi:)

A few years ago I got carpal tunnel from a job I did at my work, and clearly it was covered by workers comp.
It sounds to me like your employer is finding an easy way out on this one.(I'm assuming you went to a doctor under your employers workers comp. insurance)
As far as I know you can get carpal tunnel during pregnancy. So the case may be infact,if you're going to your PCD,that it may be pregnancy caused.Either way, since you have a painful condition, and you are pregnant, you might be eligible for STD/LTD.(paid wages when off of work)

IMO,Check into it.....it's not worth being in pain@ work while you are preggers:)

Take care&congrats!!!!
