Pelvic pain in postmenopausal woman

I am a postmenopausal woman who recently awoke with a feeling of generalized pain in the pelvic area - the pain occurs upon walking, though I feel it even when sitting or standing. It does not appear to be related to urination or defecation.  Is this exercise related? I have no obvious symptoms of an infection. I have had occasional instances of outer hip pain in the past, but this feels completely different, more on the inner sides.  I have taken Advil to no avail. What is causing this & how do I treat it?

Hi there!

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your pain. Possibilities that may need to be considered include genitor-urinary infections, inflammations, growths/ masses, skeletal/ joint related issues such as degeneration, inflammation etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
