About two months ago I was play fighting with a friend when I my knee twisted and it I injured my knee, I was drunk at the time and cant remember the incident very well, but the next day by knee was very swollen and sore. I went to the doctors and they said they swelling would go down and it would heal in about 4 weeks, about 6 weeks later it was just as bad if not worse, I went to the doctors again and they booked me to see a physiotherapist, but the appointment is not for two months. I have a physical assessment for a job coming up with the bleep test, and I can no longer run or play any sport. I visited the hospital today in hope of an answer but they basicly said there was nothing wrong with me.
Once every other day my knee will give way, it feels like something comes loose in there and it partially locks (cant bend it very far at all) and something sticks out on the top right (of my right knee), it is very painful, I need to move it around and it will kind of pop back in place. Its frustrating being told there is nothing wrong with me when it is having quite an impact on my life, and making no signs of getting better what so ever. Any advice on what the problem might be would be hugely appreciated.
It also feels very unsteady when going up stairs and when I carry anything heavy if that gives any more insight.
