Hi there!

Well, this would depend on the location/ type of fracture, displacement and complications. Though not life threatening in most cases, it could lead to significant morbidity.
Hope this information helps.

Take care!

Thank you for your response. Its my (R) femur and its been broke for twenty years i was in a car wreck at the age of twenty. It was a compound fracture thats turned into a non-union. I do not have a doctor because of money but I do have medcare. But im resposable for the twenty percent. Anyway I have nothing holding the broken femur they took all hardware out five years ago they found infection under the plate so they treated me with six weeks of vagomyason. I m getting worried about infection. my leg doesnt have fever but could infection be doing damage to my body without me knowing it?
