Muscle twitching/stifness/dull ache

Hello, I am a fit individual who works out about 4 times a week ( weights, cardio, aerobics classes) and also I have had2 reoccuring stress fractures in my left tibia in the last 6 years ( due to running) Since then I have cut out almost all running ( maybe 2-4 minutes at the most in a workout), but I still work out my legs. Just 2 days ago I performed a leg workout, and came home with a dull ache and stiffness in my left inner calf/ inner lower knee part as well, Not excruciating pain or anything, just a dull pain. The next day, different parts of my left calf, and hamstring have been twitching all day, when I am just sitting or laying. My right leg has also been a little bit too, but not near as much as my left leg.  I have also been diagnosed with a mal-tracking problem with my left knee, meaning when I do anything movement where my knee bends and has weight on it, the knee moves slighting forward and inward, instead of just forward. This has caused me some minor knee pain sometimes, however it's not prominant right now. Any suggestions? I'm sick of spending money on this leg lol

Thanks so much for replying, so you do not think it could be a reoccuring stress fracutre? I always feel like its the sam kind of ache, and I just get worried. Also I have always noticed that my left leg is noticably weeker and gets tired faster than my right, especially when I am performing weight lifting exercises. Thanks.

Hi Bib310,

Repeated leg workouts, cause muscle spasms and sprains which lead to soreness and stiffness of your hamstrings.Try to reduce your workouts as pain may persist so long the maintaining factor is present.Your knee problem further adds to your pain,so be cautious. To relieve the pain you can apply some topical drugs like voltaren emulgel and take acetaminophen if required.Consult a orthopedic surgeon if there is no significant relief.
All the best.
Take care
