Questions about Ganglion Cyst on wrist

I've had a ganglion cyst for a few days on the top of my wrist at the joint. I have been wondering as I let it reduce in size and heal on its own. Wouldn't the sac filled with fluid still exist and eventually fill up again if I begin using my hand as I did once before? Without aspirating it and filling it with a cortizone shot, wouldn't it indefinitely recur as I use my wrist more? I'm just curious if I should have it checked out and treated, or will letting it heal on its own be just as effective
