I have had a problem with my knee for about a year. I was playing tennis and after sprinting I went to plant my foot my knee twisted, I heard a pop, and it gave out. It swelled up and hurt pretty bad. After about 2 weeks, the swelling went away and it didn't hurt too bad. Even though the pain went away, the knee just hasn't felt right. The best way i could describe it is sometimes the knee feels like it wants to turn inside out. It also feels if I were to put all of my weight on it that it would give out. On the outside of the knee, there is visible fluid build-up. And when I flex the leg, you can hear the knee cracking.
I went to see my family physician and he said it felt like the meniscus was torn, so he wanted me to get an MRI. When the MRI report came back it said there was fluid build-up in the acl compartment and the acl might be torn. I went to see and Orthopedic doctor and he said that he didn't see anything wrong with the MRI and when he did the clinical test he said there was a little play but he didn't really see anything wrong. He also did an x-ray which was negative.
Does anyone have an opinion on my problem? I think I'm going to go see another orthopedic doctor to see what he says. I'm a pretty active person and it is a big deal when I don't have confidence in the stability of the knee
