I have the brown little dots myself and really nervous of what it could be. When eventually get to the doctor will deg update. I dont have any pain on tingles though. Just these brown dots on the top of my foot by my toes.
Who ever said u sbould go see a doctor rite away. No offense. But that was a dumb *** answer sorry. They were looking for an answer of what people might think it could be. Go to the doctor. Thats common sence.
bremom- I have the same condition. They started about 6 months ago. My feet would feel tingly in the mornings, almost painful, but not really. It is a light sensation similar to pain. I've had similar spots on left shin for about 5 years. I thought it was a problem left over from a dog bite about the same time.
Because my fingernails are ridged and pocked, I determined I had a nutritional deficiency, esp. Magnesium. To help, I completely quit my 20-year, daily, coffee routine. I researched Mg-rich foods, and found raw pumpkin seeds. I snack on them every day. After a few days of the change, I began waking without any sensation in my feet; they felt normal.
And, my fingernails are now growing a new layer. I can actually see a new layer of nail growing out. On some fingers, there is already a second new layer (two layers now.)
But, a few days ago, the spots suddenly increased in area coverage. And, the tingling and subtle heat/pain is returned.
So, today I'm looking for more information.
I also have the same condition, I have an appt w/ my heart specialist today and my neurologist Thursday....never thought about a dermatoligist. All doctors have given me expensive tests w/ no results. I am really concerned as my youngest brother recently died of two major heart attacks accompanied by 3 strokes. He had a major stroke in 2006 but recovered until his recent death. He was only 3 years older than me.
Thank You! I have made an appt with a Dr. I do appreciate ALL your attetion to this and your the best!
Thanks
Hi again!
Peripheral neuropathy is unlikely to be the cause of the spots though it can cause the tingling, numbness and pain; though an alternative diagnosis could cause both. However if peripheral neuropathy is secondary to micronutrient deficiency or endocrine issues, pigmentation could result secondary to dermatitis or as an association. There is also the possibility of these being two separate issues. Well, these are just assumptions and a confirmatory diagnosis can only be given after a clinical evaluation. I would suggest seeing a dermatologist prior to considering a neurological evaluation.
Hope this is helpful.
Take care!
Thank you..it does help. I do suffer from Peripheral Neuropathy. Can that cause it?
Hi there!
This could be due to skin disorders or could be café-au-lait spots. The latter are usually congenital but may occur later in life in association with a few neurological conditions like neurofibromatosis or other metabolic conditions. The tingling or numbness could be due to neural issues, vascular problems, micronutrient deficiencies etc. I would suggest two separate evaluations by a dermatologist and a neurologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this helps.
Take care!
You're welcome. Please let me know how it goes.
You need to to a doctor ASAP and have your foot examined.
