What can I do to treat mild diffuse chondral thinning in femoral condyle?

I had ACL reconstruction surgery - successful according to the surgeon. Several months ago I started to experience severe pain during normal exercise (treadmill, hiking).
MRI results:
Mild diffuse chondral thinning in the weightbearing medial and lateral femoral condyle,
about 25-30% thickness. Possible mild chondromalacia in the weightbearing portions of the femur.

I would appreciate any advice on what can I do to treat the problem.
