Hi,
As i advised previously the only option left is Open Reduction and internal fixation.
The operating Orthopaedician will give you options after the X-ray and Physical examination of the patient.
The surgeon has to operate the case as closed reduction and manipulation cannot be performed at this juncture.
Take care!
dear Dr vinod
the patient is my cousin.she is 53 years old.she has an untreated congenital dislocation of hip.
she wants to know what the latest treatment is for an untreated dislocation of hip in this age.
thanks
lina
The most common is posterior dislocation and we advise you to go for an examination and discuss with the Orthopaedician different options of surgery.
If closed reduction is not possible at your age the Orthopaedician will think about open reduction.

dear Dr vinod
thank you so much for your response.
Congenital hip dislocation must be detected early when it can be easily treated by a few weeks of traction. If it is not detected, the child's hip may develop incorrectly seen when the child begins to walk. If one hip is affected the child will have a limp and lurch and with bilateral dislocation there will be a waddling gait.
Now it is like an acquired dislocation of hip and it would need surgery.
You may be treated by surgical realignment and traction.
Visit an experienced Orthopaedician for examination and further course of action.
Take care!
