tennis elbow

I live in the Washington, D.C. area and would like to try platelet injections as a treatment for tennis elbow.  Georgetown just finished clinical trials but I can't find a doctor who will administer this as a treatment. Is it still experimental? How can I find a physician who uses this procedure?

Dr James Gilbert at Metro Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Washington, DC does it. I am debating getting it done by him for for patellar tendonitis.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

Platelet rich plasma and prolotherapy for lateral epicondylitis can reduce chronic elbow pain. As this is not an intervention surgery you can always try.

Other options are arthroscopic surgery if conservative therapy fails. Mayo clinic is practicing some of these procedures.

You need to contact an orthopedician locally who can refer to a local expert or by your family physician.

Till then follow proper ergonomics while working and avoid lifting of heavy weights. Take intermittent pain killers.

Take care!
