I don't mind at all, Charley
What a nice photo!! I have saved it and will use it as my screensaver for Remembrance Day. If you don't mind lol
In the Spring of '90, we were staying at a friend's house in Norfolk (UK) and driving around the countryside. Poppies grew wild everywhere - in open areas, even alongside the roadways - loved them.
I'm not a gardener - don't do outdoors. My husband loves flowers and does all the gardening. There are many things that will not grow in our front yard - because of the black walnut tree. Bill says there are poppies around this area, big ones - he said there were some smaller poppies that grew out front this summer between the sidewalk and the street, volunteers. They grew among the other flowers he planted out there.
I have planted poppies several times, but with no luck to get them to come back the next year. I love their color and the tissue paperlike fragile nature of their blossoms.

I love to garden, when I can, and always leave room for wild flowers to grow. The poppies come back year after year. We are having our first snow today and there are a few of those red beauties that are still growing. Charley
Beautiful poppy! I had to call my husband in to look at it - had clicked on it to view the Larger version where the central core is very interesting-looking.
