I believe that the estrogen we are exposed to in our enviroment may play a role in some of these issues. More people seem to be saying we should not drink milk or consume dairy products (Heather Mills McCartney was quoted in the media yesterday saying that, not that she is some big authority). Milk today is not the same as milk 100 years ago. It is full of antibiotics and hormones used to boost production, etc. Of course we all know we should eat chemical free, organic foods, fruits, vegetables. There is even estrogen in many household products including nail polish, cosmetics, paint, etc. Type in "estrogen dominance" on search engines, there's lot of reading.

I have long been a 'health food nut' and a lot of good it did me -- I STILL developed a large ovarian mass,  learned during surgery that I have terrible endometriosis, and  I just had two uterine polyps removed!

Seriously, as Katie mentioned, the estrogen dominance issue is believed to be a big suspect in women's health problems.  Basic guidelines for ovary and uterine health read along the lines of...avoid estrogen dominance and unopposed estrogen, fertility drugs, talcum powder in the genital area, non-organic dairy products, and non-free range meats and poultry.   Added to that are guidelines advocating gentle, non-strenuous exercise and reducing stress.

Other guidelines for women's health include herbal supplementation that supports liver function.  The liver is vital to detoxifying the blood stream.  A vitamin and supplement store might be a good place to start a search.
