Bowel obstruction

Anyone have any experience with octreotide for bowel obstruction?

My blockage was due to my neglect of a constipation problem.   I had enemas in hospital and a laxative regularly it took weeks to clear.   Afterwards I did ask why they didn't remove my bowel and 6the answer was because of where the blockage was seems an operation for me was not an option.   As I have often said keep positive and when it's cleared by whatever means you will feel great.

Hi- Yes I was in hospital for three months last year they couldn't operate so tried clearing from top and bottom it was hellish painful but eventually was sorted.   The problem I have now is a fear of this happeniong again and trying to put on some weight as I am so thin with no muscles left at all.   My advice to everyone is do not allow the  mearest hint of constipation to arise - I think I was to blasaige and did not act quickly enough, the annoying thing is I had enemas in the house which I think would have avoided the situation - my own idea by the way and not medical advice.
