liver mets

My sister is 53, has Stage 4 ovarian cancer since August of 2003. She has been on chemo pretty much on and off since being diagnosed. Her CA125 has always been a good marker for her. It has recently climbed from 235 to 485 and a CAT scan (last Friday) showed that there was pericapsular fluid surrounding the liver "concerning as to inplantation of tumor", and meshing of the messentary near the small bowel possibly causing a partial small bowel obstruction..and it also said something about the area being concerning as to implantation of tumor.........(btw, on November 10, 2007 she had a clear CAT scan).....my question is, does this mean she for sure has liver mets and mets to the messentary? Her doctors have addressed the bowel obstruction (after a gastrograph) and she is now able to eat small amount of regular food. They have sent her home and  told her they would see her in a couple weeks to discuss possible tx. with chemo. If in fact she has liver mets, etc....and has been on many different chemos, i am wondering what they might recommend....and at this point is it palliative? any answers you might have are appreciated.......LJ

I was dx stage IV in Nov 2005 with mets to the liver. I have also been on chemo since dx and am currently on my 4th regime. As far as the liver goes, they keep a close eye on it as it seems that everytime mine comes back, that it where it shows up. You might have your sister check into radiofrequency ablation of the liver. I have had it done twice noe to remove spots that were in my liver. I hope that can get this all under control for her. Keep us posted. LOL Chris
