Fran Drescher Stage 1 Campaign & OVCA Video

Someone sent me this video on Fran's Drescher's fight to catch ALL cancers at Stage 1.  The 1st 6 minutes of this video is Fran & Rosie O'Donnell talking about OVCA and the "whispering" signs, the need for TVUS (even if you have to pay for it), CA125's etc.  Her goal like ours is to find a reliable test for detection.  She also talks about how we have a right to a certain amount of testing and ins companies need to step up to the plate and pay for them.  She also talks about not finding any of these tests on the "menu" at the Drs office cause they don't tell you about them.  It is everything we would want to get out to the public.  Anyway, you should watch it.  Maybe we can get her to be our champion.  (I did not watch anything after 6 minutes but the video continues)

This is what she has said about the TVUS in interviews:

"In my opinion, every woman should be getting a trans-vaginal ultrasound every time she goes to the gynecologist for her annual exam," Drescher states. "And every gynecologist should become skilled in using this technology.  It's like putting a pair of eyes on the ends of the doctor's fingers," Drescher notes. "It enables the doctor to better see what is going on in a woman's body. Otherwise, I believe the exam is essentially incomplete."

She also noted that in an era of increasing obesity, it is becoming more problematic to just do a pelvic as those organs can't be felt as easily.
