Medication isn't preventing cysts

I keep getting ovarian cysts on my left ovary.  They are simple, functional cysts, but they hurt.  My doctor put me on a high level dose of estrogen (in my birth control pills) but nothing is stopping the cysts from forming.  I have tried several different types of birth control pills too.  I can't afford to go get another ultrasound.  And anyway, all they do is show that I do, in fact, have a cyst.  What other option do I have?

My right ovary and fallopian tube were removed last November due to a dermoid cyst that had destroyed the ovary.

I am 26 and want to get pregnant soon....but I am afraid I won't be able to conceive.

One good benefit of pregnancy for most of us...we don't ovulate so don't grow cysts and usally endo is better and can sometimes go away totally during precnacy and nursing. Not a reason to procreate, but if it is in your future at least a bright prospect.   Good luck. You are too young to be dealing with this crud.   Cindi

I don't know how large they are getting.  They go away with every cycle though.  I know that is normal, but they are very painful.  My ob-gyn said that they are preventing me from ovulating since the egg is never released from the ovary.  That's what scares me...that I will never be able to get pregnant and will have to have my remaining ovary eventually removed.
