the discomfort below the bra line could be a hiatal hernia, this is not an uncomman disorder, should show up with endoscopy.
Did they just do a pelvic ultrasound? Or did they do an ultrasound also on your upper stomach area. I would say be persistent until you find out what is causing that pain. Best of luck to you.
Hi,
They did a pelvic ultra sound and a transvagional ultra sound. I think they did a pelvic. Funny thing is I went to a different lab. It was a womens specialty place. They did not make me drink the water. I thought they did both. I know they did the transvagional for sure lol. Can you have a hiatal hernia eevn tho you have had your gall bladder out. Would a conlonostophy or a upper GI test tell anything. Thank you.
A hiatal hernia is a rupture of the diaphram, has nothing to do with gall bladder, it lets small parts of the intestine come into the chest area sometimes, causes acid refux, on a full stomach the intestine pushes against the weakened spot. Hiatal hernias are very comman, sometimes they do need repair but not frequently. I understand that an endoscope is the best to dx it. Was it you that said you sleep on your belly, that could be one of the reasons it hurts because you are pushing some of the organs into a flattened space. These organs have more space when your belly is not compressed. The really only reason for a repair would be a trapped portion of the intestine in the chest area, but you would have a lot of pain with that. Also a tight bra could cause some discomfort because it also compresses that area. That is the reason I don't wear one, I have had a Hiatal hernia for many years.
