Really dumb Endo question.....

I just had a thought (I know...a dangerous thing for me :)
My chocolate cyst had a partial rupture on December 22 which leaked endo (found on CT scan in the ER). I had a gyn appt to look at the cyst on Jan. 16th. She put me on oral BC. The BC is supposed to stop you from cycling.
Does the endo grow from the estrogen rise during ovulation? Or does it grow when you actually have a period?
If it's during ovulation, then shouldn't the BC have kept it from growing?
(I was on Yasmin for three months and used the placebos, and then Seasonale with no placebo for nearly two months before sx).

And when it sheds then you have the whole blood where it shouldn't be and inflammation and then scar tissue as the body tries to protect the inflamed area. Ok... that makes more sense to me. I kept thinking that it was from ovulation and if it was from that then the BC should have kept the endo from spreading and the adhesions from forming.
*sigh* Dang icky stuff.

I think endo grows when the lining of the uterus grows (its the same stuff, just misplaced).  So it grows during the first 3 weeks of your cycle and sheds when you have your period.
