My Dr prescribed prenatal vitamins as they are great for your skin, nails and hair. They have everything in them you need and than some. I don't know about the energy part though. I have a lot of fatique but I was only 5 mths out when I had to start chemo again so... B-12 is the "energy" vitamin and some on here take B-50 and B-12. You can get B-12 shots and I hear they really jump start your day. Good luck

Yeah, you are probablly inquiring about "B12" shots as they are required to have a prescription or you may be asking about alternative such as intravenous Vitamin C (IVC) which does not necessarily need a prescription (but you should go to a reputable physician that specializes in this type of infusion).
Having been through chemo twice, I haven't found an energy vitamin. I take a multi vitamin, vitamins B 6, 12 and folic acid, to help prevent peripheral neuropathy. Vitamin C infusions are expensive and probably not covered by insurance. B 12 shots usually are not necessary unless you are not absorbing B12 from the GI tract. Eat healty, exercise and rest when you need to. You will get tired, as it destroys the cancer cells your own normal cells will die also. They monitor the red blood cells and if they get too low, they give injections of a medication called procrit. I did not need it with carbo and taxol. You will get tired within 3 days of getting the good stuff, but it passes in 2 to 3 days. I got up and moved and amazingly forgot for a time how tired I was. Good luck to you.
