How Big is Big When it is a Cyst?

Hello everyone you all are great on here. I have a septated cyst on my right ovary that is 2.8 x 2.2 x 2.6 cm. Is that large ir small and is it big enough to be causing me light cramping, low back pain and gas.(My hubby is about to move into the guest bedroom)I also have 2 fibroids on left side. Cyst is within ovary does that malke a difference? My doctor did pap, bisopy and ultra sound then sent me to radiologist for 2nd U/S. He wants to wait 2 months send back for another U/S and take it from there. I did have some light bleeding 3 weeks ago after not having my period for 18 months.Unterus is .09 cm but bisopy was normal. My mom who is 82 with leukemia lives with us and my nerves are shot.I don't have time to deal with al;l this plus work everyday.
Thanks in advance for any info and good luck and quick recovery for all this week who has to face surgery.
Linda

7-years ago I had a cyst on my left ovary the size of a softball. They removed it laprascopicly and they ultimately took my ovary as I had damage to that ovary from years of smaller cysts that had dissolved on their own. So I would say yes you can have it removed laprascopicly.

As far as effecting your fertility, I would say it would not as worse case scenario you loose your left ovary and have your right. With your right ovary, you'll still ovulate whereas I see no reason why you should still be able to have a child. However, a gynecologist could best answer that question

Any cyst is big.  It takes up space and causes pain.

Linda,
In my experience, no cyst is too small for pain.  In February, I went to the hospital thinking I was having an appendicitis attack, but turned out to be a 2cm cyst on my ovary.  At this point in time, I think it is safe to wait for a month to see what happens.  My cyst grew to 9cm in 4 weeks.  I'll be praying for you and your mom.  Good luck with your Mom.  Kasie
