7-years ago I had a cyst on my left ovary the size of a softball. They removed it laprascopicly and they ultimately took my ovary as I had damage to that ovary from years of smaller cysts that had dissolved on their own. So I would say yes you can have it removed laprascopicly.
As far as effecting your fertility, I would say it would not as worse case scenario you loose your left ovary and have your right. With your right ovary, you'll still ovulate whereas I see no reason why you should still be able to have a child. However, a gynecologist could best answer that question
hi...just found out i have a cyst in my left ovary,im 25 and dont have kids yet.
Its 6cm large...do you think they will remove it laprascopicly and will it effect my fertility?
Any cyst is big. It takes up space and causes pain.

Linda,
In my experience, no cyst is too small for pain. In February, I went to the hospital thinking I was having an appendicitis attack, but turned out to be a 2cm cyst on my ovary. At this point in time, I think it is safe to wait for a month to see what happens. My cyst grew to 9cm in 4 weeks. I'll be praying for you and your mom. Good luck with your Mom. Kasie
