A lot of pain

I am 23, and i have had a pain in my lower right side for about a two months now. In 2009 I had a cyst removed from my left ovary. In 2010 I had a d&c done. Last month I went to the er because of the pain in my side. At the er they told me I had an ovarian cyst on my right ovary. and to followup with the gyno. I went to see the gyno and he was very rude told me that my cyst was only 2.3cm and not big enough to cause pain, and that I needed to see a gastro. I saw the gastro and since I lost my mom this year to colon cancer, he ordered a ct scan. They called me today with the results and said that my right ovary was covered in cysts and that I had a very large cyst on my ovary and that i needed to see a gyno asap. Since I was unhappy with my last visit, I switched doctors and they can't get me in util july 19. So I was hoping that someone could ease my mind until then. My ct report says that I have a cystic lesion on my right ovary measuring 4.3cm*3.3cm. my questions are
1: Is that considered a large cyst? I think the last one I had removed was 7cm.
2. Is it normal that it grew that fast, or does a ct and an ultrasound measure differently?
3.What will they do for a cyst this size? I am in pain that starts in my side and goes to my back and into my hips.
Thank you for taking the time to read all of this. hopefully someone  can help me out.

Hello,
CT scan is fairly accurate and if it is showing ovarian cysts then it needs evaluation. Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.

Discuss these treatment options with a gynecologist so that the best treatment options can be decided.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
