Thankz for your comment it has definitely helped me as i will take the wait and see approach i will not allow them to remove anything without several opinions x
Ovarian cysts are common and most resolve on their own in 2 to 3 cycles. So it is reasonable and even appropriate for it to be monitored via ultrasound. Too many gyns are quick to rush women into surgery when it is unnecessary. Hysterectomy and removal of ovaries are the tops overused surgeries after c-section with over 90% of them being unwarranted.
Once the cyst gets over 7cm or so, there is risk of ovarian torsion so that is about the cut-off point for monitoring versus surgery.
I was grossly over-treated for a 9.5cm cyst. My gyn should have removed just the cyst but instead he removed all my female parts - uterus, both ovaries, tubes. I have since discovered that this happens far more often than most people realize.
Since the uterus and ovaries are needed our WHOLE LIVES, it is important to keep all these parts.
Please keep us posted...I hope the cyst resolves on its own.
