What now ovarian cysts

I went in on Wednesday for a routine right ovarian cystectomy. I have at least 3 cysts associated with my right side, and the biggest one *10cm* is septated. Once my Dr went in through my bellybutton with her camera, she took pics, and decided to not remove or drain a thing, close me back up and refer me to a cancer specialist. I am 30 years old. I am definitely overwhelmed with all of this. Has anyone else on here been through this?

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this. I am surprised that she didn't do a biopsy herself, or remove the cyst. You are young and most ovarian cysts are benign. Good luck and god bless, deb

As far as i know, she did not take a sample. I am waiting on a call from the cancer specialist today or tomorrow. I have a follow up with my Dr on Thursday for my incision, and I should know more then. When she told me the news, I was still pretty effed up from the surgery meds. ;)

Did she take a sample of tissue to send to pathology? That is the only way to diagnose ovarian cancer. Most ovarian cysts are benign (non cancerous).
