Ovarian cysts/ cncer

Is there a link between cervic cancer and ovarian cyst/cancer. Im asking this because i was told lately now that the doctor has discover a growth in my ovary after the operation of removing my womb last year. I was told that the problem was aslo affecting the ovary ,so the ovary was suppossed to be removed when they remove the womb. Is there a link between this ? If not what does all this mean. By the time they remove the womb i was told that the cells were not yet cancer but they were on the last stage to develop into cancer, so how does that affect the ovary.

OK, now I understand.  I can't say if they are related and could just as likely be not.  Glad you got someone to identify your infection.  The mass (doctors use this interchangeably with tumour or cyst) may or may not have been there when you had your surgery.  Cysts can grow quickly.  Do take a look at the health pages associated wth this forum (at the top right) and there is info on cysts you may find helpful.

Please do keep us posted on your progress.  I just had a grapefruit sized cluster of cysts removed 5 weeks ago and feel so much better.  Good luck!

After 3 years of consulting ,i did a pap smear and the results was showing abnormal HPV , i was reffered to the gyn and the doctor told me that part of my womb was partly damaged and the pre cancerous cells are in the last stage, thats where the sugery came in for the removal of the womb, but five months after the sugery ,all those symptoms which i was having came back ( itching, smelly discharge and forever wet by the watery discharge) i started consulting last year again with the same doctor who did the sugery, the only medication he was giving me was ****** to clean my vagina with and it works only when im using it ,the minute i stop using it the symtoms where back. TMy doctor keep on saying that there is nothing serious until i got tired of his story and start consulting somewhere else, ican say its a better doctor considering the machine he has and the time he spend examining me.

The new doctor did the pelvic ultra sound scanner, Coloscopy and some other vagina test and he told me that firstly the infection which i have is high resistant something, and he also told me that during my sugery they should have remove the ovary . He indicated that the scanner which i also saw show a big growth in my ovary and he looked worried but he told the situation is very dangerous but he said im must come back after 4 weeks so that  he can assess the situation and decide way forward, i asked him if there was a link between this new discovery and the past ,he indicated that by the look of the growth the doctor shoul have picked it up by then.

I'm sorry, but I agree with Trudie.... I am a bit lost. I am betting that you had surgery for pre-cancerous cells on the cervix and now they have found pre-cancerous cells in the ovaries?

I guess there is no hard and fast data (that I know of) that connects the two, but I have heard of more connections in the past five years (not many, mind you.... but they always jump out at me)........  I had surgery for Severe Cervical Dysplasia (not related to HPV) two years before Cancerous cells were found in an ovarian cyst. I have often wondered if the "Estrogen dominance" theory was at play here.... and this has been suggested, also, by one of my doctors. You can google the words to got a ton of info. But, essentially it is when there is a gap between estrogen and Progesterone and estrogen is higher. It does not have to be that levels are high, just that they are not balanced.

Take care,

Mary

I apologize that I am confused by your posting.  I'm not sure where cervical cancer comes into your problem.  Are you saying they found precancerous cells on your cervix and removed it and your uterus in your surgery?  Did they remove both of your ovaries in your previous operation?  If so there could be a remnant left that now has a cyst.
