yeah, thankyou so much. i will keep you updated. im having tummy pains again but im not sure if its just my menstrual cycle.
You can buy some stool softeners over the counter at Walmart or anywhere. It does not need to be prescribed. Your doctors did you a disservice in not telling you to take them anyway as it's not like you had likely been on the pain meds very long when you left the hospital.
Hope it's just stool-related!
and also, where they done the operation, its really really really hard, and it stings and it hurts, im not sure if thats part of the recovery or i have some type of infection.
thankyou so much and i definitely will. what you explained to me sounds like some symptoms i get, i had to get a scan where i drink loads of water because im too young to get the other one. They said everything is normal but i was abit bloated. But the pain is still there.
thankyou:') i am pretty constipated, i dont have no laxitives at home because the doctors didn't prescribe any to me.
i was on codeine and they said that could cause constipation, so they waited for me to go to the toilet,if not they said they would give me laxitives, it was very hard when i went. im still getting hard stools now.
1) Were you on pain pills? And are you still on them?
2) Were you given stool softeners and did you take them?
Pain pills given following surgery run the risk of causing constipation, which can cause really bad pain, especially if you're still healing.
I would think initially you would have the normal pain from surgery, assuming this was laparoscopic and the blew your abdomen up with gas. It takes a while to pass that gas. Additionally, you get constipated from the anesthesia and pain medications. I would suggest you take magnesium citrate to speed up your digestion and stop the pain pills if you are taking them. You can take Metamucil or even a laxative like Ex Lax to get things moving.
Monitor your temperature every day to see if you have an infection. An infection after surgery requires a call to the surgeon.
If you are done with antibiotics, start a probiotic to help your body get your natural flora back. If these measures do not help within three days, see the surgeon.
Well if the pain is in your pelvic area you could possibly have endometriosis, endo can only be diagnosed through surgery as it cannot be seen on X-ray ultrasound, MRI, etc. endo pain can be mild to excruciating. Endo can also cause a whole host of other medical problems. I was diagnosed with endo why I was in my early 20's but I suffered from it way before I was ever diagnosed. Everybody said oh it's just really bad periods but that was not the case. I hope that you will be able to find out something soon, please keep me posted.
