Alexafranco - Do you possibly have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)? If so, your ovaries will continue to produce cysts which do not need to be surgically removed. If these are not PCOS cysts and require removal, hopefully your surgeon is removing just the cysts since we need our ovaries (and uterus) our whole lives for good health.

Anechoic is a term used in ultrasound and it means that your cysts did not have internal echoes during your exam. Ultrasound uses sound waves. The fact that yours are anechoic is a great sign and means they are simple cysts (fluid filled).
Malignant and worrisome cysts are complex (have solid parts) and they appear hypoechoic (mild to moderate echoes) or hyperechoic (very strong echoes) on an ultrasound. The solid parts in a mass produce echoes and cancer produces solid parts. Even if you are told you have a complex cyst with internal echoes, odds are with you that it is benign. There are many benign complex cysts. But, they do warrant closer follow-up to be sure there is not a concern.
The size of your cyst is also important...even for simple cysts. Usually when cysts reach 5cm or larger, the doctor will consider surgical intervention. But, most will go away on their own in a few months. Birth control pills are sometimes prescribed to help them go away sooner.
Also, if you have multiple cysts, you may have an underlying condition like PCOS or endometriosis. I hope yours clears soon!
