Need help and advice!

I just moved here from the Detroit area. I have been under the care of a Pain Management Doctor for 2 years. Allthough the problems started 4-5 years ago.
I have 2 herniated buldging discs in my neck, 1 in my mid/upper back and 1 or 2 in my lower back. Complicated by arthritis and carpel tunnel and nerve damage. Headaches daily, shooting extremity pain, burning and numbness electricity weakness loss of strenghth the whole deal.
I have had 15 epidural pain injections in my neck. 8 or 10 in my back. And nerve termination of my lower back nerves by high frequeraly for residual pain. I take Norco and esMorphine for pain. I need a referral for a good pain doctor which includes med pain management in their therapy. Please Help. Thanks

Hi Les,

I am in the FL Panhandle... just moved here too, so I understand your search and concern. Welcome!!

There have been HUGE changes in the laws of this state. Several years ago it was riddled with what was termed, "Pill Mills." Fortunately that is no longer the case. There are respected and quality Pain Management Clinics through out this state. I am physicially too far from you to be of assistance.

If you look in the phone book or place "Pain Management Clinics, Clearwater" in your search engine you'll be able to locate a few.  Most do prescribe opiates... but not all so you'll need to ask. You'll also need your  a copy of medical records.

If you need more assistance send me a PM and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Relax, you will find quality care here. I did.

Warm Regards,
~Tuck

Hello Tuck,

After your comment I went in and finished more of my profile. Thanks for the observation. Here is Clearwater Florida. Changing Physicians is just very difficult. My primary I was with for 20 years. My Pain Doctor the past 2 years. My primary actually overlooked my complaints for 4-5 years. His fix to most everything was Motrin 800. Well finally they ordered the MRI and various tests that confirmed my complaints were valid. However in the mean time going unaddressed for so long resulted in further damage to my spine and reulted in nerve damage and all that goes with it. So I am here in Clearwater seeking a New Pain Management Doctor. I have had 15 or so epidural injections, they terminated my lower back nerves and performed carpel tunnel surgery. Come to find out that most of the carpel tunnel syndrome was a residual problem stemming from my neck. Surgeon told me neck fusion should help. Another told me in confidence NO Way does he recommend surgery too risky and further problimatic. So I am on Pain Medication Therapy as they call it. Needless to say it all *****. However I am stricking with the pain med therapy and the occasinal series of epidurals. They are painfull but help short term when it gets really bad.

Thanks for any advice

Hello, Spiderguy,

Welcome!!

"I just moved here..."  Where is "here"? Your Profile Page is incomplete and does not provide information..... Indeed it says you are a female and you are signing Spider GUY."

Any additional information will help us, help you. I must admit I am not comfortable recommending a specific physician and I know very few across the USA. Our members may have suggestions but again we need to know where "here" is located.

Peace,
~Tuck
