Back pain / Stifness after sleeping

I'm 28 years old male, seven months back I have a problem of vitamin D deficiency and pain in a body.  Then I got better advice and consultancy from the orthopedic specialist and he gave me “Cholecalciferol: 5mg/ml” injection, pain killer analgesics and some dairy dietary plan. So by the passage of time I recover the vitamin D level and good healthy condition.
But the problem of backache is remaining in my body. In every morning, after sleeping I feel stiffness in my back for just 1hour and after that it has removed from the body. In short I can sleep only 4-5 hour daily during the night and suddenly wakeup from stiffness. So any one can tell me about how I can relief from the backache stiffness from the body.

I’ll be pleased to provide further information you may need and waiting your humble response as well. Please help me in this regard and worried about this situation.

Hi Salmanstats83,
It is difficult to know from your description what is causing morning stiffness. Could you have injured your back? I had low back pain stiffness every morning after I had a back sprain in the low back. It took a while to go away but I couldn't sleep. I also fractured a rib and didn't know it because it was on the inside part of the rib cage. I had gone to a physical therapist who bruised my ribs and that also gave me pain and stiffness for about 4 months and it went away. So, it would be good to get an Xray or MRI of the area that is causing problems but if you can't try heat on the area and see if that will help. I don't know if you have arthritis either but they can see that on Xray and also on lab tests. If you see your doctor and they decide you have a back strain a muscle relaxer may help for a while.
hope this helps.

Hello and Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am sorry to hear about your morning back stiffness. Can you tell us if this pain is in your low back? That is the most common area of back pain.

At 28 arthritis is not impossible but not a usual diagnosis. Are you in good physical condition? Do you sit at a desk most of the day or have a similar physically inactive position? I am wondering if this is muscle related rather then an arthritis or spinal structure problem?

I too have a Vit D deficiency and a B12 deficiency. I can tell if I am low in either and often discover I have missed the med or injection. It brings body wide pain and spasms. Have you had your B12 levels checked also?

If you have had an MRI of your spine and lab work to check for inflammatory conditions such as Arthritis and all is negative then consider how you sit, walk and your over all physical condition. In my opinion you may benefit with a consult from a Holistic Physician or a Doctor of Osteopathy. A good physical therapist (PT) may also be beneficial but your primary care physician or a DO or a Holistic Physician may be able to refer you to a good PT.

I have no suggestions for herbal supplements as I don't have a lot of confidence in most of them.  I wish you well and hope you can find a reason for back stiffness. If it makes you feel any better it is a common complaint.

Please let us know how you are doing. I'll look forward to your updates.

Take Care,
~Tuck

You may have arthritis in your back. Try Black cherry extract capsules or cherry juice for a week and see if that helps limber you up at night. Best wishes.
