You might want to find a good ENT to biopsy the nodules. The TSH might be too high especially since you are having symptoms I recommend that you get a hold "The Thyroid Solution" http://www.amazon.com/Thyroid-Solution-Revolutionary-Mind-Body-Program/dp/0345429206
The author specializes in treating thyroid and shows why you cannot just go by blood test. It is easy to read, has a great index and a lot of stories. If TX you might try to go see him.
thanks! good to know im not the only one wondering
i have been tested for vitamin deficiencies and such, but my eating habits have been erratic since i became sick, and i recently had my gallbladder removed, so who's to say it's not all connected to food! thank you.
i actually have had my thyroid levels tested periodically, as recently as July they were in the "normal" range:
TSH 1.96 miu/l
t4 free 1.2 ng/dl
t3 total 175 ng/dl
thyroglobulin <20 iu/ml
peroxidase <10 iu/ml
however, they did locate two nodules on my thyroid in july - they can't test them until they get bigger tho, which is ridiculous. if those nodules are making me sick i am going to beat up the idiot radiologist who refused to biopsy them!
i have not looked into parathyroid, thanks for the input
Savella I believe is a SSNRI so not only does it effect serotonin levels but it also effects nor-epinephrine levels. So Savella also causes the adrenals to fatigue and not work properly. I wonder if your thyroid was tested? If so what were your levels because the lab ranges are wrong especially for women. I learned that they generalize the ranges for both men and women when in fact women should have their own ranges. Has any doctor looked at your free T3 levels for thyroid-- this test is NOT obsolete the test that is (more or less) is total T3-- there is a big difference. Has anyone looked at your parathyroid? Last have you looked at diet as far as gluten my sister was diagnosed with fibro and later would learn that when she tried a gluten and dairy free diet practically all her pain left.
Hi I just now heard of SIS[serotonin ect ect] I also have
pain and no real diagnosis
I have neurontin and oxycodone
I entered Lyricia/ Neurontin in the search engine
to compare the side effects ..
Pages of this disorder
came up.RSDS andCRPS
I havent talked to my doctor
about it yet..
I have found that the medical field
does not give any real answers
about what we are experiencing
They are slow [if ever] to put a name
to the various issues of chronic pain
we live with every day Good luck to you..

Might help if my fingers had typed "irritational" rather than "irrational." LOL!
I can't comment on Serotonin Irrational Syndrome, but have a thought about your hip and other body pain. Have you thought about any of it being related to your diet? I had the same problems with hip, joint and muscle pain growing much worse over the past two or three years. Turns out it was malnutrition - mostly scurvy. Not surprising given my medical condition but what was surprising was that I had to bring it to the attention of my doctor rather than the other way around. Nutritional deficiencies just aren't on the radar in this country due to the abundance of food, but we don't always eat things that are high in nutrient value. Anyway, something to consider. In a way I hope your pain is due to malnutrition - it's a whole lot easier to treat than fibro!
