Hi everyone. This is my first posting in this forum. I have also posted this in the Multiple Sclerosis community, since I have RRMS. If anyone has any advice, experience, or answers it would be much appreciated!
"Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I have had RRMS since May of this year. What a complete life changing experience so far! My first episode went away after a couple of months. Now I have been experiencing severe-excruiciating-debilitating-progressively worse-chronic left hip/leg pain for almost 3 months. I've seen at least 9 doctors about this. I've had an MRI of my lumbar spine with normal results. I'm having a MRI of my pelvic/buttox region next week. I'm now having to walk with a cane at times due to weakness and pain. I'm on a bunch of pain medication (nerve pain and narcotic pain relievers), but I still haven't gotten any answers as to what exactly is causing this (besides the term sciatica which is extremely non-specific). I've tried steroids, physical therapy, etc. with no good results. Currently, I am trying acupuncture. Please help if anyone has experienced this pain. The pain radiates from the left side of my tailbone all the way to my feet (goes through my upper thigh, it band, knee, calf, etc.)."
Your symptoms sound as though they could be related to your SIJ (sacroiliac joint). SIJ pain and dysfunction if often under diagnosed and easily dismissed. You might want to goggle SIJD (SIJ Dysfunction) and see if the symptoms are as close to yours as they seem to be as you describe in your post.
I have SIJD. If you have any specific questions please feel free to send me a PM or even ask on this thread. I hope you will keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. I will look forward with great interest to hear what you discover. I wish you the best.
Take Care,
~Tuck
