Failed drug test not discharged fr Pain Managment. Will new DR prescribe meds

I have been in pain management here in Texas since 2011. I had a failed test a few months ago with thc in my system. Since I’ve never failed tests my Dr didn’t discharge me but he is tapering me off my meds. I’ve tried the last three months to take less meds but my pain is too bad. I’ve been at the same practice since 2011 I am now looking for another doctor . The THC was from CbD oil that I stupidly didn’t check to make sure there was no THC in. My question is when I go to a new Dr I plan to just disclose everything . I am hoping since my other pain management doctor didn’t discharge me they will prescribe me meds. My doctor said they can give me injections and non opiod meds but that’s it. Can someone please let me know if I will have a hard time finding someone who will prescribe meds?

No doctor has to continue treatment you were given by another doctor. Since mmj is illegal in your state, there is no way to guess what a new PM may do, CBS can also be detected in testing, so you may want to keep that in mind for the future.
There are other treatment options for pain, a side from opiates, and you may find that the new dr. offers those in the interim.

Were you prescribed a mmj card or mmj treatment?
It depends on the state laws, whether you were prescribed the use of it, or you obtained it on your own.
Some PM docs are suggesting its use in states where its use is legal.
