I don't need luck if you will pray. Thank you for your kindness.
Wow, that sounds very painful! so your on 90mg a day of morphine? I still don't think this it's an very high dose, but, I'm not a doctor. LOL. I've just never heard where morphine can cause dehydration like that. Maybe an autoimmune disorder? I wish I had better advice for you, just keep after your doctors looking for an answer and if you don't mind I will add you to my prayer list. I wish you the best of luck.
i know. I meant to say 30mg 3 X a day, which is the max I would ever take, but I messed up, so I didn't expect to get much of an answer from anyone. I tried to get the moderator to erase or correct my entry, but I couldn't do that either because my iPad automatically capitalizes the first letter in every sentence, so I couldn't type the code in the box that proves I'm human to begin with a lower case letter, and the code doesn't change when you mess up. (I know how now, as i did type your name in there ;o). Arachnoiditis is an injury of the arachnoid membrane that surrounds the spinal cord. It is a type of partial spinal cord injury. The nerve signals get confused, but not the pain signals. They come through in a crecendo of screaming pain deamons. I wear leg braces, or use a wheelchair. Nothing below my waist works right. I take a bag full of meds every day. Many produce this dehydration problem. I also have an illeostomy, like a colostomy only my colon and some small intestine got ripped up when I had Sepsis, so it was made with what was then left of my small intestine. The illeostomy could be partly to blame for the dehydration. I know that one pill I take, Bentyl, slows my stomach down a bit which helps me digest more of what I eat. I'm would think that might contribute to the problem, because I can't eat high fiber foods and my stool is always mostly liquid. I should update my meds in my profile.
Hi there, I'm not sure what Arachnoiditis is, but 30mg of morphine a day isn't really a strong dose, at least in my opinion. The dehydration issue sounds pretty scary and i can't imagine its the morphine. I would have your doctor refer you to a specialist to get to the bottom of your dehydration problems. (please note- I am not a doctor nor a medical professional, this is just my personal opinion). Good luck!
