How do you get your insurance company to ok the procedure you need done

7 months with a stiff and sore neck.also breathing problem that started when neck problem started. Taking pain pills from my GP. The neurosurgeon who is top 10 in the country took MRI and X-rays. Discs from C2---C5 are bulging and hitting sack that covers spinal cord. BC/BS turned down surgeons request to stabilize cervical Spine at the C3-C4. And free up the nerves. Resubmitted by surgeon and rejected again. Now they want a nerve test done on my affected area. Stick pins into the muscle to see response. Anyone else gone through all these  problems. I also did PT, Cortosone shots, trigger shots and 10 weeks with Cyropractor. Driving up a wall. Walk 20 feet and neck stiffens right up. Can hardly turn head in any direction. Sit back in a comfy chair or lay in bed and it's much better. But try to sit at a dinner table-- can not do. Stiffens right up and sore. What would anyone  Out there do. Thanks.

Jump through the hoops. BC/BS is one of the hardest to get things approved. You need to show that you've tried all the more conservative treatments - meds, PT, maybe nerve blocks and/or nerve RF ablation, etc. You should have a pain specialist referring these treatments, GPs can't usually get something as radical as surgery approved by insurance.
