solpadeine

I am waiting for a prescription for solpadol 30/500mg which has 30g of codeine in it and i use it now and again for pain as it is the only painkiller i have found that helps. I have bought solpadeine max which has 12.8 mg of codeine. Is it very dangerous to take 4 in one go to relieve my pain?

Codeine is one of the weakest narcotic pain medicines.  However, it has 500mg of Tylenol and taking too much Tylenol is very harmful in large quantities.   Also, never ever take more medicine then your doctor perscribes, even if your not treated enough for the pain. Make a sooner appointment and let them know how bad your pain is.  There are many other medicines that work much better.  If they won't help you, try finding another doctor who will if possible.  Good luck.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
In the 30/500mg combination, you can take one or two solpadol tablets every 4-6 hours. So, in this light, you can take two of solpadeine max every 4-6 hours as you cannot increase the paracetamol dose beyond this. However, no medication should be taken without consulting a doctor as it has the potential to cause harm. Hence, medical supervision is necessary in pain medications. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
