Hemangioma

I am 36 and I have been having pain in my tail bone for many, many years. I was always told it was because of my tilted uterus but after my hysterectomy 3 years ago the pain became worse. My hands and legs go numb. I have had numerous test done and now I am told I have hemangioma in my spine and in my left hip. The Doctor I have been seeing is an absolute cold hearted jerk. He has told me infront of my husband and mother that if I want a biopsy done he would do it but he didn't care because he got the pay check. I told my family doctor that I did not want to see him again because of the way he would brush things off and how he didn't care as long as he got the pay check. All she said to me was "Well I did hear he didn't have the best bedside manors!" This is our medical system wow..... I had a 6 month follow up last week with this jerk and I  told him how I was having a lot of hip pain and that when they do the MRI if they would look at my hips. They only checked my spine. I am having problems walking and he only checks my spine. This Doctor refuses to listen to me. He makes me feel like it's all in my head. I have even lost 68lbs thinking it would relieve the pain and it hasn't. Do I have the right to get a second opinion? Because I don't think I'm getting anywhere with this Doctor.

Hello Bella,

Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am so sorry that you have been treated so rudely by your surgeon. It is absolutely unacceptable.

We can forget that we hire our physicians. They work for us. I don't know one that works for free....of course with a few exceptions. We have the right to pick and chose whom we will employee....especially so with our very important health care providers. Don't ask, insist on another physician. You have the right to pick and choose and I encourage you to do so.

There are kind, caring and compassionate physicians out there. I found one. I feel the way Pearl does, my PCP is a Godsend. I am confident that you will be able to find a great one also. I would even take a less competent physician if they were kind and understanding. Luckily I do not have to make that choice.

I wish you the very best and hope that you will keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. Be assertive and demand the best.

Take Care,
~Tuck

Yes you have a right to get another Dr.  That is YOUR body!
If you don't stand up for yourself....then who will?
I would keep looking till i found a caring Dr.  You're worth it!
I have had this same type of problems for years with Dr's
Finally i met a female Dr, well she is a  "Nurse Practioner."
She is so warm and caring that i wanted to go home with her.
Took me a very long time to find her, but she saved my life.
She jumped right on a problem i had been ignored about for years
just in the nick of time.  I feel she was a GODSEND!
Pray for help and guidance in finding the right Dr.
Blessings!
