pain

i have a gnawing pain in my abdominal area but it tends to hurt more in the middle and upper area however it hurts all ove sometimes. it has been coming and going for the past 5 years now. at first i was given meds for h. phyloria? about 4 years ago and another round last year although i don't think i needed it. my stomach is bloated and sometimes as soon as i eat or drink something, it pertrudes. sometimes the pain wakes me up from my sleep. i don't notice it occurring more at one time than the other. i have been diagnosed with a high hernia. got any clues?

well i am doing better on the prebiotics. i dont have the same degree and amount of pain in my gut. i was(am) a carbaholic but for the past 4 days, have cut a lot of it out of my diet.
well i got on the 17 day diet. look it up on the internet.you can also go to the library and borrow the book. its explains the diet very well. i bave been doing it for about 4 days also and i have lost 3 lbs. thats says a lot for me because i have noit been able to loose weight. i gained 11 lbs in one month!
so you hang in there. try to find a diet or lifestyle change that works for you becasue you (we) have to get and stay healthy. keep me posted and its been a pleasure chating with you.  Godspeed.

She did not explain much except to loose weight(I am 100lbs over weight) what my reserch turned up was people with NASH(non alcholic fatty liver) have to cut out sugar...and anything that TURNS to sugar(by your liver I think) like carbs and most fat because with fatty liver ...it is not working so it stores your fat IN the liver enlarging it causing damage. Your liver is your bodies first and best filter of toxins and when working right can help you BURN sugars and fats.
So now I have to eat maily non startchy veggies, limit red meats, and any contaminates(like tylonal, booze, junk foods that are highly processed, pesticides, ect...)even diet drinks have sugar substitutes that a injured liver can NOT processes and is very painful to eat.
Trying to balance my diet is a nightmare:/
I will try some probiotics as well...that is a good thing either way!
Take care and keep me up dated ...if you do not mind.
It has yet to make a difference yet but I have only lost

hey jim5,
well i went to the dr. and she seems to think my intestines are inflammed due to an imbalance of pre and probiotics. she recommend activia and an otc supplement called align to help balance what i am lacking. my stomach is still extended but funny thing is that i have not had pain today. i ate about 5 of the activia yogurts so i dont know it if thats it or just happenstance.
another post told be that she was diagnosed with a fatty liver. not for sure how that occurs but i will pose that question to my dr the next time i see her. i will ask her to check my liver panel. so how are you doing?

yes the part about the extended stomach after eating.
well i went to the dr yesterday and she "seems" to think that the good and bad bacteria has been upset therefore she prescribed pre and probiotics to my diet. she says my intestines are inflamed due to the problems with the imbalanced bacteria.she recommended that i eat activia and another otc supplement called align. well the funny thing is that i have eaten 4 servings of activia and my stomach has not hurt today although it is slightly bloated. so what exactly do they recommend for the fatty liver? how did it happen? the next time i go to the dr, i will ask her to check my lipid panel to check for that. thanks for sharing.

How did it go? I was diagnosed with HPilory infection ...then after they treated that they found I have a fatty liver(super painful) it wakes me at night and my belly is distended/bloated with eating. Right undermy ribs in my back on the right side....even with sugar/fat/carbs cut from my diet it STILL hurts so I think there is something more they missed.
I can not lay on that side and it feels pinched with some positions so that I have to move.
Does that sound famililar?
Please let us know how it goes!

Sounds exactly like what i have been dealing with. one doctor tells me its my gal bladder and a specialist tells me its only heart burn. I have had heart burn for most of my life I know what that is and this is not it. If you get any answers me post and I will do the same for you, thanks.
